Japanese Kimono – hand-sewn and hand-drawn
This one-of-a-kind kimono was hand-sewn in Japan, following traditional craftsmanship. It is hand-illustrated by Bara Manon, making each piece a wearable artwork.
The drawings draw inspiration from old-school tattoos of society’s outsiders — sailors, sex workers, and prisoners — symbols of freedom, desire, and survival.
Each line tells a story, each stitch binds soul to skin — a garment as a talisman, both fragile and untamed.

Kimono japonais – cousu et dessiné à la main

Ce kimono unique a été cousu à la main au Japon, selon un savoir-faire traditionnel. Il est ensuite orné de dessins originaux réalisés à la main par Bara Manon.
Les motifs s’inspirent des tatouages anciens des marginaux – marins, femmes de joie, prisonniers – symboles de liberté, de désir et de survie.
Chaque trait raconte une histoire, chaque couture relie l’âme à la peau : un vêtement comme un talisman, à la fois fragile et indomptable.
